What is a "Featured Article"?Edit

A Featured Article (FA) is an article that represents the best of the best from SWGames. It is both well written and exemplifies what the Wiki is all about. A Featured Article has to demonstrate that it stands out among other articles and is the first item new and old viewers see when they visit this Wiki’s Main Page. An Featured Article can be about any subject presented here on SWGames, meaning the possibilities range from Games to Characters to Vehicles to Places. Weapons can even be nominated. More then one article may be voted on at once.

Requirements for FA statusEdit

These are the requirements that must be met in order for an article to receive FA status and be placed on the Main Page:

  1. Must have a suitable infobox image.
  2. Grammatically correct (with no improvement templates on the article).
  3. Long enough to be sufficiently detailed on the topic.
  4. Follows the Manual of Style.
  5. Properly categorized (See Manual of Style for proper categorization).
  6. Must have no more then 6 redlinks on the page.
  7. Must have 2/3 of votes supporting. (It is recommended that, if there are opposing votes, the nominator should do what is necessary to please those opposing until they support the article).
  8. Before voting, a proposal article for the Main Page must be at least started.
  9. The proposal must be at least as long as profile picture, and no longer then three paragraphs. (If the article has a sufficient introduction, that can be used as the FA).
  10. Must not be an article that has been copied from Wookieepedia. Admins will go over proposed FA's to check if they meet this requirement.
  11. Must not be an article that has already received FA status as of Jan 4th, 2008. If the article has received before that, it may be voted on again under the new requirements. (For list of previous FA's after Jan 4th, see here, and for upcoming FA's, see here.)

(Nominated Articles will be in the voting process for one week before it is determined whether it will deemed FA material. A new FA will be voted on at the beginning of each month).

What it should look likeEdit

There will be certain Administrators, known as the AFAC, who will oversee the process of voting as it is going on. This will help the process become less chaotic in cases where there are strong opposing and supporting arguments. Those Admins are the following:

Here’s an example of what an FA should look like:

SWEpisodeIII
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith or "ROTS" was a 2005 video game based on the movie of the same name. It centers around Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker as the Clone Wars come to an end. There are seventeen levels, interlaced with over twelve minutes of footage from the movie. It was released on May 5, 2005, for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, Game Boy Advanced and Nintendo DS. Additionally, a version was made available for mobile phones on April 2, and a PlayStation Portable release came out in late 2005. The game follows the movie storyline very closely, incorporating footage from the movie into the game and blending it well with the game portion itself. It involves playing through the events as either Anakin Skywalker or Obi-Wan Kenobi, with radically different events taking place in either. As Obi-Wan, much of the game is centered around destroying General Grievous, while the Anakin levels chronicle his fall to the dark side and extermination of the Jedi Order, including the attack on the Jedi Temple, which culminates in a duel with Cin Drallig. The Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS versions of ROTS are much the same to the console versions, except as a side-scrolling action game. The DS version also features uses for its touch-screen capability.

Please post your nominations in the following format, under the subsection of nominations:

Current StandingsEdit

Users may only vote for one article at a time, if it is successful users may move their vote. Users can change their vote by crossing out (<s></s>) their previous vote and placing 4 tidals (~) under their next choice.
