Sandcrawlers, or crawlers for short were massive, lumbering behemoths of machinery that crawled across the deserts of Tatooine. They were most extensively used by Jawas as massive, mobile homes while they collected miscelaneous bits of broken machinery and droids from the desert.
Sandcrawlers were also used by Czerka Corporation during the Jedi Civil War while they mined the Dune Sea. The sandcrawlers were abandoned to the Jawas when Czerca Corp. pulled out and left the crawlers in the desert.
