A Ion Cannon was a weapon that was able to stun a ship or another type of electronic equipment, leaving it unable to opperate efficiently. The effects of an Ion canon were usually, slower engines, no shields and slow, limited or non operational weapons, however sometimes vessels could lose life support and other systems as well.
