The battle on Tatooine Mos Eisley, in Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron takes place in the main locations seen in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The battle takes place mostly out in the sandy streets of Mos Eisley. The indoor locations are the Mos Eisley Cantina and a shelter in the sail barge hangar. Other key locations include the Bantha Pens and South Slums. Indoors or outdoors the battlefield is very bright due to Tatooines twin suns.

Command Posts[]

There are Health and Ammo Droids at every command post.

Galactic Empire/CIS[]

Bantha Pens[]

The Bantha Pens are an outdoor area, surrounded by low fences that can be jumped over. There is an arch 'doorway' at one of the corners of the squares. The Pens are very open and anyone inside the pens is an easy target for snipers and players with the Orbital Strike Sniper Rifle. Because of how open it is the Bantha Pens are hard to defend. After moving through some houses you come to an open area, near the huge crashed ship. From there you can move on to the Cantina and the Sail Barge Hangar. A notable feature is the landspeeder that is on fire, just outside the Bantha pens.

Cantina[]

The Cantina is laid out almost the same as in previous Battlefront games however it is now much brighter. The chairs, tables and bar provide great cover. As there is a low roof this is the perfect place for a Jetpack or Jumpack equipped trooper to use as a sniping spot. There are two entrances/exits. One leads towards the Bantha Pens, the other leads to an open area which is near to the Sail Barge Hangar and South Slums

Neutral[]

Sail Barge Hangar[]

The Sail Barge hangar is a neutral command post that has two entrances/exits. One leads to an open area, near the South Slums and the Cantina. The other leads to the Bantha Pens and the second entrance to the Cantina. The actual command post is next to the sail barge. The sail barge provides a great lookout point, from which both entrances/exits can be covered. There is also a shelter in the barge which is a great place to watch the actual command post and surprise any attackers. The most notable feature is the sail barge. There is another crashed landspeeder outside the main (large) entrance.

Galactic Republic/Rebel Alliance[]

Trader Outpost[]

The Trader Outpost is the furthest part away from the battlefield. It is right next to the South Slums and is partially exposed. The actual command post is in a dead end of houses. There is a housing block which can be walked on, giving you a great view of the battlefield but leaving you very exposed to snipers. By using a Jetpack/Jumpack you can reach the top of the building, preventing a surprise enemy attack.

South Slums[]

The South Slums is perhaps the hardest command post to defend, as it has many Jetpack/Jumpack accessible rooftops and a fairly large capture radius. There is plenty of cover but an enemy can take one of many back routes and sneak up on you. The South Slums is very near to the Trader Outpost and the Sail Barge Hangar. There is another crashed landspeeder nearby which provides great cover for an enemy sniper.

Heroes[]

Hero Strategy[]

Boba Fett[]

Boba Fett's Blaster Pistol is very effective for taking out enemies and his Jetpack gives him a great advantage when capturing command posts. Use his unlimited Wrist Rockets to take out enemies in one or two hits. His Flamethrower is useful at choke points.

Han Solo[]

Han Solo’s Blaster Pistol is just as good as Boba Fett’s and his Detpacks are very useful for blocking choke points, like the Cantina entrances/exits.

Obi-Wan Kenobi[]

Obi-Wan Kenobi is useful in choke points but he is a very easy target at the open area next to the hangar, as he only has close combat attacks (Lightsaber throw is very unreliable)

General Grievous[]

General Grievous is very useful in choke points and narrow areas, however in open areas he is very weak.

Vehicles[]

There are no vehicles in this battlefront (other than the Flaming landspeeders).

Capture The Flag[]

The Galactic Republic/Rebel Alliance capture zone is at the Trader Outpost. A Jetpack can be used to get to the flag but then you have to get away with the flag and no Jetpack. Because of that, it is fairly easy to defend if you stay in one of the corners near the moisture evaporator.

The Galactic Empire/CIS capture zone is at the Bantha Pens. An easy way of capturing the flag is to jet to the flag and then jump over the low wall and run back to nearby team mates. Another way is to Jet to the flag as a group, after launching a few shots from the Orbital Strike Sniper Rifle, and then send half the team to run with the flag carrier, and half to engage and slow down the enemies that respawn.
