Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels is a lightsaber simulating video game released for the Nintendo Wii. It is based on the 3-D animated film set in the Clone Wars. It features the use of the Wii remote as a lightsaber and the ability to cut down items and Force push them into opponents.[3]
Gameplay[]
Obi-Wan Kenobi versus General Grievous in a lightsaber duel.
The game is meant to give the same "feel" as the film and series it is based on. It uses very similar graphics to the film and series to help create this. The game involves a lot of one-on-one dueling.
Storyline[]
The game merges in with the storyline of the film and series that it is based on. The levels are placed in order in which the episodes were made, not in the order they were brodcast.
The Resolute[]
A tutorial level taking place in the hanger of Anakin's flagship, the Resolute, just before the battle of Teth. In which Anakin Skywalker teaches his padawan Ahsoka Tano how to engage an enemy in a lightsaber duel.
Teth Castle Dungeon[]
A duel between Anakin Skywalker and Asajj Ventress in a throne room and the Rancor pit in the Teth Monestary, based on the deleted scene in the Clone Wars film. It ends with Ventress being thrown into the Rancor's cage, rather being sat on.
Teth Castle Ramparts[]
The duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Asajj Ventress as seen in the Clone Wars film. Ending with Ventress being crushed by a sector of the monastary by Kenobi, instead of her escaping on a Vulture droid.
The Dune Sea[]
The Duel between Anakin Skywalker and Count Dooku from the film. After fighting in front of Krayt Dragon skeleton, the level ends with Dooku falling into a Sarlacc near a war torn city after assuring Skywalker that he will not escape instead of trying to taunt Skywalker with a hologram of his Padawan being beaten by the IG-100 MagnaGuards.
Separatist Sky Station[]
Ahsoka Tano's duel with General Grievous (From "Duel of the droids") outside the Skytop station as it falls out of the sky rather than the hallways and the battle droid storage room. Ahsoka slices Grievous' back and jumps into a gunship whist a coughing Grievous lands on his personal fighter, whilst in the episode Grievous chokes Tano who takes advantage of an explosion to slice the hand that she was being choked with.
Tranquility[]
The duel from "Cloak of Darkness" with only Ahsoka Tano and Asajj Ventress. With Ventress, instead of escaping, getting blasted by a gas explosion, then which Ahsoka notes that she does not need her master to save her. Luminara Unduli is not present in the game unlike the episode, where she fights Ventress alongside Ahsoka.
Negotiater[]
A duel from "Shadow of Malevolence" made exclusively for the game introducing a duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Count Dooku aboard a republic Star Destroyer trying to defend a clone medical station. Kenobi defeats Dooku who is then surrounded by several Clone troopers, he receves a transmission from Anakin Skywalker telling him that the Malevolence needs to be destroyed on the inside. Kenobi leaves while Dooku asks: "Do you really think I can be taken by a mere clone?" Implying that he kills his captors and escapes.
The Malevolence[]
The duel on the Malevolence train network between Obi-Wan Kenobi and General Grievous from "Destroy Malevolence". Grievous tries to crush Kenobi with a crate but is knocked into the chasm by a low bridge instead of cornering Kenobi who jumps onto another train and escapes.
Separatist Droid lab[]
Another exclusive level for the game takes place in Separatist droid lab inflitrated by Anakin Skywalker, who confronts a new Separatist droid who destroys two magnaguards known as the EG-5 Jedi hunter droid. Skywalker admires the droids fighting skill but notes that it takes more than fast motovators and bad programing to kill a Jedi. Skywalker slices the droids arm, repeatedly skrikes it and kicks it into a electricity pilon where it explodes. Anakin then escapes the exploding facility.
Arenas[]
There are 13 arenas in the game. Some are unlocked via Campaign mode, others by challenge mode.
The Resolute[]
The hanger of Anakin Skywalker's battleship, the Resolute.
Teth Castle Dungeon[]
An arena based around the deleted scene from The Clone Wars movie where in round 1 it starts in a throne room (similar to Jabba the Hutt's) in the middle of a battle. At the start of round 2, the character who won knocks the loser down into the Rancor pit. During rounds 2 and 3, the duelists fight whilst the Rancor fights off both clones and droids.
Teth Castle Ramparts[]
The arena in which you start in the hall where Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ventress fight whilst the clones and droids attack each other with rockets and thermal detonators. In rounds 2 and 3, the loser jumps to higher ground the winner follows and they duel on the bridge. At some point you should see the Twilight drop some cargo on you due to the deleted scene in which Ahsoka tries to dump the cargo out of the Twlight so it can jump to hyperspace. There are also several vulture droids flying low above you.
The Dune sea[]
The duel takes place next to the Krayt dragon skeleton with a crowd of Jawas watching and a gunship passing every now and then blowing sand into the player's faces. There is then a chase into a war torn city with a nearby Sarlacc and two battle droids.
Separatist Sky station[]
A landing platform on Skytop Station in the middle of a battle, which eventually falls out of the sky.
Tranqillity[]
The hallway just outside Nute Gunray's cell in the middle of his rescue, with rockets and time bombs. In round 2 the loser jumps through a hole and the winner follows them into the exploding engine room (Watch out for the gas blasts).
Negotiator[]
A briefing room (with a battle sratagy to destroy the malevolence) and it's under attack by droids (with rockets)! Then the main control room is ripped to shreads by the malevolence.
Malevolence[]
The train network on board the Malevolence. There are 4 carts: cart 1 has a barrier of crates between the players, cart 2 has 2 battle droids and 4 switched off super battle droids, cart 3 is cluttered with debries and has 2 battle droids and cart 4 is is slightly damaged and has C-3PO hanging on for his life (Note: Beware crashing Y-Wings). Once you leave a cart it will break off and to make matters worse there is a attack train shooting rockets at you.
Separatist Droid lab[]
A lab similar to where Darth Vader is put his suit. With crates, electricity pilons, two Astro droids and a exploding reactor.
Sarlacc pit[]
A bridge over a Sarlacc pit in the middle of a battle.
Raxus Prime[]
A platform over the junk planet, Raxus Prime.
Mustafar[]
A landing platform with a Jedi Starfighter on it, near a Clone gunship crash site. In round 2 the players jump down onto the rocks below.
Separatist Droid factory[]
A droid factory similar to the one on Geonosis, with a melting pool and 3 switched off super battle droids.

Behind the scenes[]
- A deleted scene from the film Star Wars: The Clone Wars is used in the game.[5]
- When engaging Plo Koon in a duel against himself at some point he will say: "This is Master Filoni's dream made form". Filoni is presumily named after Dave Filoni, the director of the film and TV series.
- In campaign mode, Grievous uses four lighsabers rather than two which he used in most of his campaign fights.
- On the Tranquility level on campaign mode Ventress tells Ahsoka to stand down and she'll give her a cookie, after calling her "Skywalker's filthy, obnoxious little pet", during the opening movie when this statment was not said in the episode: "Cloak of Darkness".
