The standard Nebulon-B frigate was armed with twelve turbolaser batteries, twelve lasercannons, and two tractor beam projectors. It was designed to carry twenty-four TIE-series starfighters. The EF76 was introduced some months after the Clone Wars, long before the formal establishment of the Rebel Alliance. The Nebulon-B was originally designed to defend Imperial convoys against raids by Rebel starfighters. The Imperial Navy was loath to relegate it's expensive Imperial star destroyer to escort duty, while the Corellian Corvettes were too weak and carried few if any TIE fighters.

Nebulon-B Frigates were best at handling anti-fighter corvettes such as Tartan patrol cruisers and Crusader Gunships. However, not just anti-fighter corvettes, they were really any corvettes' worst nightmare. They also worked very well with Assault Frigates. They were also really durable and well suited for front-line combat, and they could also take quite a beating. They also actually dont take too terribly long to build on the galactic map and posses no particular weaknesses.
Nebulon-B Frigates were very vulnerable to Bomber and Capital ships most notably and to some frigate attacks. They also tend to be in the Assault Frigates' shadow as far as abilities go. They were also to an extent, short on firepower.
