Empire AT-AT Offload EaW

AT-ATs being offloaded in Empire at War

The All Terrain Armored Transport, or AT-AT, was a vehicle used as a ground transport and heavy assault walker. It played a major role in the Galactic Empire's army and was sluggish due to its heavy weight. It could carry up to 40 Stormtroopers and often had an escort either two AT-STs or four 74-Z speeder bikes to protect its flanks.

Star Wars: Battlefront series[]

In the Star Wars: Battlefront series the AT-AT is used as a mobile command post that players can spawn from. It can be destroyed using turrets, missiles or harpoon cables from the Snowspeeders.

Star Wars: Battlefront[]

In Star Wars: Battlefront the AT-AT appears on Rhen Var: Harbor and on Hoth: Echo Base. It is extremely hard to destroy but if it is hit from the sides or behind, its slow turning speed stops it from countering allowing the maneuverable Rebel vehicles to gain an advantage over the AT-AT.

Star Wars Battlefront II[]

In the sequel, the AT-AT appears on Hoth on the Empire's side, both in the skirmish battle and in the final Campaign mission. It is extremely hard to destroy and has highly damaging shots, but it is also supremely slow and has low rate of fire. Once again, it acts like a command post and can be destroyed by the cable attack. It should also be noted that while Imperial Engineers can repair them, it is impossible for the Rebel Smugglers to slice into them. The Hoth Dish Turret is the best weapon against them besides the cable attack, and so it should be the Empire's player priority to destroy those turrets and capture the hangar as soon as possible.

AT-AT Storm Deployment Target Ion Cannon

An AT-AT deploying stormtroopers.

"Armored transport ready."

In Star Wars: Empire at War and Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption the AT-AT is a heavy assault walker, and one of the most powerful vehicles in the game. It can be constructed at Tier 3 at the Heavy Factory for 1600 credits.

Strenghts[]

It possesses the largest health out of all units in the game. It has very high anti-vehicle damage, allowing it to easily defeat most of the enemy vehicles and quickly destroy buildings. It also has pretty high range, outranging the enemy turrets and destroying them with ease. It does a lot less damage towards the infantry though: while it can technically crush them, it is simply far too slow to do that effectively. However, the ability to deploy Stormtroopers makes it far less vulnerable to the Plex Missile Soldiers then other vehicles, as well as allowing it to capture the landing zones by itself.

Weakneses[]

It's main weakness is the cable attack ability used by the rebel Snowspeeders, as it will instantly destroy it if it was moving at the time. As such, you should always have AT-AAs near it and press the stop button when the Snowspeeders appear (as an immobile AT-AT won't topple over, though it'll remain stuck until the cable falls off).

Due to its slow speed, it is also very vulnerable to attacks from MPTL-2as and Missile Attack Launchers. Canderous assault tanks and whole squads of T4-B Heavy Tanks can also prove a match for the AT-AT. Finally, the Chewbacca can simply break into it, thus turning this powerful asset against you.
