The All Terrain Scout Transport , often abbrieviated to AT-ST, was a heavy scouting vehicle used by the Galactic Empire. It was generally piloted by two Imperial pilots, although it could be manned by one, and was used all throughout the galaxy as a support vehicle for ground infantry. The AT-ST was most notably used on the Forest Moon of Endor during the Battle of Endor and as an escort vehicle for the larger All Terrain Armored Transports on Hoth during the Battle of Hoth.

The AT-ST had several weapons systems, some controlled by the pilot, some by the copilot. The pilot had control of the main laser cannons and heavy laser cannons, which required a short amount of time to recharge after overheating. The copilot controlled the secondary laser cannons, which had less power than the main laser cannons, but could be fired more times before requiring a cool-down time.

[edit] Strengths

As the name All Terrain Scout Transport, AT-STs were best at scouting or for very light enemy resistance. They were the fastest walker the Imperials possesed and were effective against most infantry and some turrets. AT-STs were typically best against normal Rebel Soldiers,Grenadiers, Defilers, and Field Commanders, though be warned that Defilers can throw explosives on these walkers and in one detonation, the unit is destroyed.

[edit] Weaknesses

The AT-ST was a walker that could do little effect on the battlefield, since they were only effective against light enemy infantry resistance. AT-STs were also virtually weak against all enemy vehicles, most notably the T4-B heavy tank, Canderous Assault Tanks, MAL's, and T2-B Repulsor Tanks. AT-ST's were also unshielded, leaving them vulnerable to heavy laser fire and warheads.4
