The Advanced Recon Commando, often abbreviated as ARC trooper, was an elite clone trooper in the Grand Army of the Republic. They were the most skilled soldiers in the Republic army and were often used for specifically difficult missions. Due to there commando duties few ARC troopers were trained during the Clone Wars as their intensive training took a lot more time than a standard clone's training.
When in battle ARC troopers often carried PLX-1 missile launchers to counter large vehicles or large amounts on infantry. Other weapons that were often used by ARC troopers were the blaster pistol, thermal detonators, and mines. Despite this weapon layout each trooper preferred different weapons and styles. Many ARC troopers worked alone whilst others worked in groups or squads, similar to those of clone commandos, however they were often not as close as commandos due to their individual training.

- In Star Wars: Battlefront the ARC trooper was given an anti-armor role which is slightly irregular to Star Wars canon. The explanation of this is that ARC troopers could fill anti-armor duties if needed and they often used explosive weaponry, or strategic devices (for example mines).
